Our History
The firm was founded in 1986, when senior partners Harold Hodes, left, and Roger Bodman, right, merged their companies --Public Strategies, Inc., and Impact, Inc. -- into Public Strategies Impact, LLC.

The affiliation blended strong ties to both political parties, Public Strategies with the Democrats, Impact with the Republicans. The combination of opposites was unique at the time and it forged a bipartisan approach to the issues, which over the years has helped us become effective advocates for our clients.

For more than 20 years, leading businesses in New Jersey and across the country have turned to Public Strategies Impact to represent their interests before the executive and legislative branches of state government. PSI has grown steadily and today is one of the leading legislative advocacy organizations in New Jersey.

Hands-on experience at every level of government
PSI's success stems from our direct involvement in public service, which has included holding prominent positions in state and local government.

As PSI has grown, we have continued to attract talented and experienced veterans of government. We have a former chief of staff, a former cabinet officer, and individuals who served on legislative staffs. William Maer served in several governmental positions including as an Aide to former Governor James Florio, Chief of Staff to Congressman William J. Pascrell, Jr. and as the Associate Executive Director of the Assembly Democratic Legislative Leadership Office. Joseph Simonetta served as Chief of Staff and Legislative Affairs to Mayor Art Holland of the City of Trenton as well as Executive Vice President of the New Jersey Conference of Mayors. Tracie DeSarno served as legislative aide to Assemblyman Peter Shapiro and as Director of Intergovernmental Relations for Essex County.
