Legislative Advocacy
While traditional lobbying has expanded to encompass a vast array of services and audiences, legislative advocacy has typically been at the core of government affairs services. At PSI we combine a rich history of experience and an unmatched knowledge of the process to best serve our clients' interests under the golden dome in Trenton.

Our legislative advocacy begins by gaining a complete understanding of our clients and their issues. Once we have the proper background information, we then work with each client to determine his or her goals and objectives. Whether it’s seeking new legislation, stopping harmful legislation, or working to amend existing legislation, we are there to develop and implement the best strategy for you. Our legislative advocacy services also include:

  • A review of all newly introduced bills in order to identify those relevant to each client
  • A custom electronic bill tracking system which allows for us to send reports when relevant bills are introduced and when they are scheduled for hearings
  • Thorough review of the NJ Register, a bi-monthly publication, to monitor all Executive Branch rule-making. We then forward all such proposed rules electronically to the client
  • Consultations with clients to develop positions on new legislation, as appropriate
  • Representing the client’s goals and objectives before the Governor, Executive Departments, members of the Legislature, commissions, and state agencies, as necessary
  • Working with coalitions toward the advancement of the client's agenda
  • Designing and implementing strategies to raise the consciousness of issues affecting each client with the Governor, his Cabinet, and Senate and General Assembly leadership

Regulatory Services
Complicated regulatory matters call for creative solutions and a multi-disciplinary team approach to problem solving. Our staff members excel at leading the efforts of legal, technical and public affairs experts in a coordinated way that gets results.

We know the people, processes and protocols that dictate the regulatory process. Our expertise can help open doors and allow your messages to be heard. We routinely:

  • Advise clients on existing statutory and regulatory framework
  • Assist in timely acquisition of permits and approvals
  • Develop compliance strategies
  • Address or mitigate pending enforcement actions
  • Establish contacts with key decision makers
  • Coordinate solutions across multiple state agencies

Budget Advocacy
How to secure funding through the state budget process is a mystery to many but not to PSI.

The fight for budget funding has never been more difficult. Federal and state cutbacks have put a strain on all sectors. This is not a time for wishful thinking. Public Strategies Impact knows the budget process inside and out. Each year we successfully advocate on behalf of our clients and help them navigate the process.

PSI has been able to secure funding in both good and bad budget cycles. We have helped clients get funding for cancer research, social service agencies, arts projects and programs and other worthwhile projects. We also advocate for proposed legislative appropriations of bond measures.

Government Marketing, Consulting & Procurement
If you are looking to cultivate your business in New Jersey, or to protect what you have already achieved, we can help. We can identify business opportunities within your industry and provide the technical and political analysis necessary to compete effectively to win it.

Our understanding of state government, the current administration's public and political agenda and the people charged with implementing that agenda can help your sales team understand the forces they face. With that knowledge we can work together to tailor a government marketing strategy to promote your offering at every appropriate level.

PSI maintains the best track record in helping their clients win business. We have the depth of IT experience required to understand our clients’ business, combined with more than 30 years of New Jersey state government experience in the procurement process. Headed by Ed Mount, who spent 30 years in state government IT, our combined expertise allows us to formulate effective strategies to compete and win business.

Information Technology (IT) Procurement
Landing a contract through the state procurement process requires a thorough knowledge of New Jersey’s procurement policies and procedures and an understanding of the various state agencies.

Given the tremendous scope of multi-year IT contracts, it is no surprise that state RFPs are detailed and demanding. With so much at stake, more IT companies choose PSI to represent them in the area of procurement than any other firm.

With our team of former career state employees, we understand the rules and rigors of government contracting. We are respectful and mindful of how government procurement differs from that of the private sector. Count on us to help you set effective strategies, assist you in their implementation and guide you toward success.
